Film Posters

Having looked at previous film poster designs from the previous year, it's clear that the most simplest and most organsised posters are the most successful. We aim to achieve this simple and organised look by ensuring that all text and pictures are alligned to create a neat and sophisticated appearance; we want our poster to be aesthetically pleasing as well as tidy.

This poster achieved the highest mark last year due to it's originality and organised design. The font of the title also contributed to it's achievement because of the boldness and thickness of the font which mimics most famous film posters. We aim to use this sort of design and font to make our film poster look realistic and visually appealing to our target demographic.

This film poster is also from the previous year and achieved a lower mark than the one above due to it's messy and unprofessional layout; the use of pills as the title is connected to the plot however it does not work as a poster title despite the creativity of it, the outcome of the editing of the title gave it an unrealistic look, making it seem tacky. The image of the girl used isn't a good quality picture which will immediately effect it's grade. Despite the fact that it's meant to look blurry and distorted, it doesn't work and only enhances the poor quality editing. The colours are also way too abstract and they clash together making it unappealing and unattractive. The colours also affect the appearance of the text as we can't clearly see what it says.
We will avoid these errors because it looks unrealisitic and doesn't look like a film poster.

These are both real life film posters which are fairly similar to the first film poster that was successful. The fonts and images of  the Zathura film poster are good quality, just like the other film poster. The Fantasy genre is successfully portrayed by the use of abtract images and dark lighting. The font reflects the glints of Sci-Fi within the movie which also contributes to the success of it.
